One of the quiet dangers in the Christian life is drifting. Most people don’t wake up one morning and decide to walk away from God. Instead, the heart slowly cools. Prayer becomes occasional. Worship becomes optional. Obedience becomes negotiable. And before long, we find ourselves far from the warmth of God’s presence.

Disobedience doesn’t make God love us less, but it does make us hear Him less. It clouds our judgment, steals our peace, and distances us from the joy we once knew.

Like the prodigal son, we often don’t realize how far we’ve wandered until life becomes empty, dry, or broken.

James 4:8

“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” One step toward God brings Him rushing toward you.
