In Proverbs 1:2 the word insight or discernment means the ability to tell the difference between right and wrong but also among good, better and best. We find that as Christs love in our heart grows, so does our depth of insight. ( Philippians 1:9). Where has God been enabling us to see fine distinctions that we didn’t see before?
Understanding Insight Simply: Proverbs 1:2 and Philippians 1:9
Seeing Things More Clearly with God's Help
What insight means
Insight isn’t just knowing right from wrong—it’s also seeing which choices are good, better, or best. This skill helps us make smarter decisions.
Christ’s Love Helps us See Better
As we let Christ’s love fill our hearts, we start to see things more clearly. Philippians 1:9 says that as our love grows, our ability to understand grows too. This means we can figure out what’s the smartest or kindest choice in tricky situations.
How God Helps us Notice More
When we look at our lives, we can see how God helps us catch details we didn’t see before. Maybe now we can tell when someone needs a kind word, or when it’s better to help in a different way. We’re able to pick the most loving answer in hard moments, and decide what’s most important.
· With friends and family, we notice small things that help us be kinder and wiser.
· When we face tough choices, we don’t just do what’s allowed—we try to do what’s best.
· When we help others, we try to act with love, even if it isn’t easy.
Think About Yor Own Life
Has there been a time when you understood things better than before? Maybe with your family, at work, or in a tough spot. That’s God’s Spirit helping you notice the difference between just okay and really good choices.
Let’s keep asking for Christ’s love so we can get even better at seeing what matters most..
God Bless
